2. The Art of Writing

The key do’s and dont’s in writing. Covering a range of disciplines from tv, film andradio, to theatre, poetry and prose. The panel will guide you through the writing process from putting your imagination on paper to directing off the page to your audience.

4th May 2011 – Equity ‘CV and Marketing Yourself’
This will be lead by Julie Fountain one of Equity’s Careers and Learning Advisors, who has been working in theatre and TV as a dancer and actor for thirty years. The session will look at writing a CV, supporting your CV, covering letters, show-reels and photos, following up and marketing tools.
9th May 2011 – Future Artists Surgery sessions.
Your chance for an extremely limited 30 minute one-to-one surgery on Social Networking with industry expert Mark Ashmore. Covering the various ways in which you can maximise online presence and have an impact – from Facebook updates to Tweets and beyond – a vital aspect for today’s artists and entrepreneurs in arts and entertainment alike.
11th May Truth PR Surgery sessions.
A 30 minute one – to – one masterclass with Lisa Margis, Truth PR’s managing partner. Learn to profile your events, or your own art/work in order to achieve press coverage. Lisa has over a decade of PR experience working on a variety of consumer and business to business PR campaigns, reaching both national and regional audiences. She has been working with Beth and Gareth for three years, helping them to spread the Not Part Of message and raise awareness of the festival with artists and venues, whilst encouraging greater audience participation.
