Gallus is the popular magistrate of Ostia, but his vivacious daughter, Livia is sure that Serapas, a visiting merchant, is trying to assassinate him. Her attention is diverted by the amorous trader Claudia’s designs on her husband Marcus, a former gladiator. Eventually, everyone is caught in a web of intrigue.
