The Not Part Of festival was born in 2007 when Gareth McCann realised that what made Manchester International Festival unique, was that it was comprised of commissioned, curated work.
Whilst that was groundbreaking it did mean that a lot of the creators who form Manchester’s day to day artistic pulse were not part of it.
Excited by the opportunity he and Beth McCann decided to create from scratch a wholy unpretentious and open arts festival for everyday people to display the products of their hard work. The Not Part Of Manchester International festival.
